Who we are

Chester Sexual Abuse Support Service (CSASS) was founded in the mid-1990s and is a registered charity, no. 1201913.

We are members of Rape Crisis England and Wales (RCEW), and adhere to their National Standards. We are also an organisational member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

We’re a team of friendly staff, specialist counsellors and volunteers, and trustees.

We are based in Chester city centre in an easily accessible and discreet location. There are no geographical restrictions on who we can support, so we work with individuals who are living in a range of locations including North Wales, Shropshire, East and West Cheshire, Merseyside, and Chester.

CSASS is a women-led, feminist organisation. We recognise sexual violence is an abuse of power, and is the cause and consequence of gender inequality. We offer a range of services including counselling and group activities. We promote substantive equality by providing women-only spaces, alongside inclusive spaces, and striving to improve accessibility to our services.

CSASS transforms survivors lives through providing services, and campaigning. Our Theory of Change describes how.
