Candlelight Vigil at the Chester Cross

Friday 12th November – 8pm

The Cross, Watergate Street, Chester

Join us for a Vigil at The Cross.  Come and remember the victims of gender-based violence.  We will reflect and grieve together, with poetry, song, and silence.  In solidarity with one another, and with our allies and supporters, we will recommit ourselves to work together for safety and justice in our city.

The killing of Sabina Nessa and Sarah Everard will be in our thoughts as we gather to remember and make our presence felt.  Since Sarah Everard was murdered half a year ago, what has changed? More lives taken, more women assaulted, more fear. A woman dies at the hands of a man every three days in the UK. Enough is enough.

All supporters are welcome to join this calm and reflective gathering. Please wear something purple and bring a torch or LED tea light.

CSASS exists to support adult survivors of sexual violence, and to challenge the behaviours and attitudes which lead to sexual and gender-based violence.  If you or someone you know has been affected, please contact us: www.csass.org.uk, info@Csass.org.uk, 01244 307 499 @CSASService

This event is part of the North West Sexual Violence Awareness Week: https://sexualviolencesupport.co.uk/campaigns/nwsvweek/
