A letter to our volunteers…

Dear CSASS volunteer,

Like everyone I suspect, I didn’t want to believe that nearly 8 months on from March, we would be back in lockdown and facing a still deeply uncertain future as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic, but the reality is just that.

I wanted to write to you to express my immense pride in CSASS and how the organisation has not only coped magnificently under the duress of the Covid context, but actually continued to provide quality support for our clients.

You, the staff and volunteers, have been amazing, rising to the challenge of home and online working, whilst buoying each other up and keeping the show on the road!  Counselling, meetings and training have all adapted to being necessarily remote – and whilst we all miss our face to face encounters, the focus has been kept tightly on our core purpose, and feedback tells us just how much this is appreciated by people whose lives have been supported and enhanced through CSASS.

“Thank you”, cannot really express adequately my gratitude for the work, the time, the empathy and expertise you bring to CSASS, but I want to say it anyway.

I very much hope you, and those you love, remain safe and well as winter rolls in, and that you are managing to fix your own oxygen mask as well as helping those around you.

Thank you,
Chris Mann
Chair, CSASS
