A Letter to all CSASS Supporters

Hello to all who support the aims and work of CSASS,

I am writing to you in my capacity as Chair of CSASS, but to be honest I really want to connect with you as just another volunteer and supporter of this wonderful organisation.

We are all painfully aware of what extraordinary times we are living through, and what additional stresses we are each facing.  So far we have had fantastic support from staff and volunteers alike.  I am so proud to work with such fabulous people!

I want to take a moment of your time to say a huge THANK YOU to the volunteers of CSASS.  As you know, CSASS is able to make a real difference to the lives of survivors of sexual violence and abuse, because of the amazing commitment and efforts of our volunteers.  Without our volunteers, such positive outcomes would not be possible.  CSASS, and those who turn to us for help, rely on this amazing team.  Thank you for your continuing support.

During these very trying and anxious times, I, and the Board of Trustees, have been really impressed by the creative and varied approaches volunteers and staff have adopted, and deeply moved by the determination shown, in ensuring that our vulnerable, yet courageous, clients are neither forgotten, nor left feeling alone.

So many of our activities that are continuing, albeit remotely, for the time being – from LiveChat and supportline, a virtual Saturday Social and weekly phone support for our regular clients. This is a testament to the ingenuity and dedication of our staff in leading this vital work.

When all this is over, and that time will come, thanks to your dedication and efforts, CSASS will be standing strong and proud, and I will look forward to thanking the whole team in person.

Keep safe and well.

Chris Mann
